Achtzehnte Bauwoche - Eighteenth week of construction works

Weihnachten - das heisst: Betriebsferien bei allen Handwerkern. Aber das macht nichts. Denn der Estrich ist drin und muss sowieso trocknen. Das heisst für uns: Lüften, lüften, lüften - denn die Heizung macht aus dem Haus eine überdimensionale Sauna.

Im neuen Jahr geht es dann weiter mit den nächsten Gewerken.

Christmas time - which means: vacation close-down of almost all craft businesses. But that's allright. The screed was put in and needs to dry anyway. And that means: airing, airing airing - because the heating turns the house into a huge sauna.

Next year the construction works will continue, finishing the last steps.

Siebzehnte Bauwoche - Seventeenth week of construction works

Es geht in großen Schritten voran. Während der Estrich trocknet hat der Elektriker den Schaltkasten und die Raumthermostate installiert. Einige Steckdosen und Schalter sind auch schon eingebaut. Die Maler haben den Außenanstrich fertiggestellt und das Gerüst wurde entfernt. Zudem wurden die Stromzähler getauscht, der Baustromkasten entfernt und die Heizung in Betrieb genommen. Jetzt läuft das Estrichtrocknungsprogramm.
Am Mittwoch hatten wir einen vor-Ort Termin mit dem Fliesenleger, um Details der zu fliesenden Räume zu besprechen.

Und KabelBW? Die haben sich tatsächlich gemeldet. Allerdings nicht wegen eines Termins, sondern lediglich um sich wegen der Verzögerung zu entschuldigen und um mir mitzuteilen, dass sie versuchen werden die von mir gesetzte Frist einzuhalten. Hilft mir das weiter? Nein. Nächster Schritt? Dem CEO eine Nachricht twittern.

Striding along. The electrician installed the room thermostats and the distribution box while the screed is drying. He also installed some of the sockets and switches already. The painters finished the paintjob and the scaffold was removed. The power meter was changed, the site power supply was removed and the heating was installed and powered on. It's now running in the screed drying mode. On Wednesday we had an on-site meeting with the tiler to discuss details on the rooms that are going to be tiled.

And KabelBW? Well, they finally contacted me. Not to discuss an appointment for my cable, but to apologize for the delay and to inform me that they will try to make the deadline I set them. Does that help me? No. Next step? Tweet their CEO.

Sechzehnte Bauwoche - Sixteenth week of construction works

Wahnsinn wie schnell es voran geht. Die kleinen Zahnrädchen greifen alle ineinander und wir kommen sehr gut voran. Die zweite Schicht des Außenputzes wurde aufgetragen und der Estrich kam rein. Jetzt heisst es abwarten und trocknen lassen. Ab Montag ist er dann begehbar.

Von KabelBW gibts auch keine Neuigkeiten. Ob wir jemals einen Anschluss bekommen? Scheinbar will KabelBW kein Geschäft mit uns machen. Schade.

Incredible progress. Everything fits together pretty well and we are right on track. The second layer of the external plaster was applied and the screed was put in place. Now all we can do is wait for it to dry. Starting Monday it'll be safe to walk on.

No news from KabelBW. Not sure if we will ever get our Cable. Looks like they do not want to make any business with us.

Fünfzehnte Bauwoche - Fifteenth week of construction works

Diese Woche ging es wieder gut voran. Die Bodendämmung und die Fussbodenheizungsspiralen wurden gelegt. Badewanne und Duschwannen sind auch da. Dann kann nächste Woche der Estrich rein!

Nur Kabel BW kam mal wieder nicht. Und das, obwohl wir einen Termin für Dienstag abgemacht hatten. Ob wir jemals einen Kabelanschluss bekommen werden?! Was früher die Telekom, scheint heute Kabel BW. 

Lots of progress this week. The floor insulation was done and the floor heating system was installed. The bathtub and shower tabs were also set up. Ready for the screed next week!

Just Kabel BW did not show up. AGAIN. Even though we had an appointment on Tuesday. Wondering if we'll ever get cable?! There was a time when Deutsche Telekom was worse - looks like those times are over.
