Fünfte Bauwoche - Fifth week of construction works

Endlich sieht unser Bauwerk aus wie....eine Burg?!

Die tragenden Wände im Erdgeschoss sind fertiggestellt, die OG-Bodenplatte wurde gegossen, das Gelände wurde weiter verfüllt, die Terrasse angeschüttet und das Schnurgerüst für die Garage gestellt.

Mittlerweile haben wir auch die Sanitär-Bemusterung hinter uns. Mit knapp 2 Stunden waren wir hier recht schnell fertig. Jeder Extrawunsch ist ein tiefer Griff in den Geldbeutel.

 

 

Finally our building starts to look like....a castle?!

The load-bearing walls in the first floor have all been layed, the second floor base plate has been poured, the site has been almost completely re-filled, the terrace was raised and the batter boards for the garage were installed.

Meanwhile we sampled the bathroom facilities. With less than 2 hours we were quite quick here. Every special request is another hand dug deep in your pocket.

Vierte Bauwoche - Fourth week of construction works

Diese Woche ist wieder so einiges passiert. Anfang der Woche wurde die Kellerdecke gelegt und gegossen, der Elektriker war da und hat die Vorbereitungen für die Leitungen im Keller getroffen, die Außenmauern des Erdgeschosses wurden gemauert, der Arbeitsraum wurde zum größten Teil wiederverfüllt und die künftige Terrasse schon aufgeschüttet. Die Dachentwässerung (von der Bodenplatte bis zur Zisterne) wurde gelegt und eingeschottert, der Mehrspartenanschluss eingebaut und Leerrohre für die Energie-Versorger gezogen. Auch hier wurde anschließend bereits verfüllt.

Am Mittwoch hatten wir dann den ersten Baustellenbesuch vom Verband Privater Bauherren (VPB). Der Gutachter, war sichtlich überrascht, wie sauber und ordentlich unsere Baustelle ist.

Nach seinem Rundgang bekamen wir dann hervorragendes Feedback: Unsere Baustelle gehöre zu den Top 5%, die unser Gutachter gesehen habe. Es gibt keinerlei Mängel und alle Arbeiten wurden hervorragend erledigt. So etwas sehe man heutzutage sehr selten.

Das Lob möchten wir an dieser Stelle an Herrn Haug und seine Männer vom Bauunternehmen Helmut Haug - Calw Stammheim weitergeben. Sie leisten wirklich hervorragende Arbeit in exzellenter Qualität - und das bei jedem Wetter!

A lot of action this week. At the beginning of the week the basement ceiling was added and poured, the electrician came to the construction site and prepared everything in the basement, the exterior walls for the first floor were layed, most of the working space around the basement was backfilled and the soon to be terrace was heaped up. The roof drainage (from the baseplate to the cistern) was installed and macadamed, the HCS was installed and reserve conduits were put in place for the suppliers (Cable, Phone and Electricity). The conduits were also macadamed after.

On Wednesday we had the first quality check of the Verband Privater Bauherren (VPB), a group of independant consultants and architects. The consultant was surprised how clean and tidy our construction site was. After his review we received his feedback, that our construction site is within the top 5% of the sites he has seen yet. There are no flaws and the work was done in an excellent quality. According to him this is rare these days. 

We would like to share this amazing feedback with Mr. Haug and his team from the Helmut Haug Construction Company - Calw Stammheim. They are doing an outstanding job - in any wind and weather.

Dritte Bauwoche - Third week of construction works

Diese Woche gab es wieder einiges Neues zu sehen auf unserer Baustelle. Die zweite Kellerhälfte wurde fertig geschalt und gegossen, die Öffnung für den Mehrspartenanschluss wurde gelegt, die Isolierung und Dämmung wurde angebracht und die Innenwände wurden gemauert.
 Die Kellerdecke kann kommen!

A lot of new things to see on our construction site this week. The second half of the concrete walls of the basement were poured, the HCS hole was drilled, the insulation was installed and the inner basement walls were layed.

Now the basement ceiling can come!

Zweite Bauwoche - Second week of construction works

Eine sehr aufregende und produktive Woche liegt hinter uns. Zeit, euch auf dem Laufenden z halten. Wir hatten einen Termin mit dem Elektriker, um die Lage und Installationen der Steckdosen, Schalter und Deckenauslässe zu besprechen. Ein guter Tipp - das ganze verläuft wesentlich schneller und angenehmer wenn man sich vorab schon mit dem Thema Steckdosen, Lichtschalter, TV- und EDV-Dosen, Leerrohre usw. auseinandersetzt und sich bereits ein paar Gedanken gemacht hat. Wir haben vor dem Gespräch unsere Pläne ausgedruckt und schon mal markiert wie wir uns das vorgestellt haben, deshalb hat das Gespräch nur 2 Stunden gedauert.

Am Mittwoch wurde dann auch schon die Keller-Bodenplatte gegossen. Die Regenwasser-Zisterne (das ist das große schwarze Ding auf dem Bild) wurde montiert und befüllt - das Teil wiegt nun rund 6 Tonnen. Am Freitag hat das Wetter super mitgemacht und der halbe Keller wurde gegossen. Unser Haus nimmt langsam Gestalt an.

A very exciting and productive week is coming to an end. Time to update our blog. We had an appointment with the electrian to discuss the installation of the power sockets, switches,  cabling, lamps, TV an data sockets etc. A good hint: take your time to go through the plans and think about this before making the appointment. It will save you a lot of time. We printed the plans and marked the spots where we thought we would like to have sockets/swtiches/etc.

Hence our appointment with the electrician only took 2 hours.

On Wednesday the basement foundation slab was built. The rain-retention-cistern (the big black thing on the picture) was installed and filled - it now weighs about 6tons.

Finally, on Friday the weather was good and half of the basement concrete walls were poured.

Finally it begins to look like a house.
